Making Comments on My Website

In the past few weeks, I’ve learned that some readers of this website cannot easily make comments on my postings. In fact, they cannot even ‘like’ a posting without first signing in with a procedure they can’t, or possibly won’t, accommodate.

I can’t easily check this out. If I try to comment on a posting on a WordPress site, I’m automatically signed in with my WordPress identity. On a non-Wordpress site I often visit, I must sign in via my Google account. That’s fine for me, but how does someone who doesn’t have a website or a formal social media presence interact?

Some people tell me they can sign into sites like mine anonymously, but I don’t know how they do it, and from comments I’ve received many others don’t either.

Not a big deal, but something to consider when I’m thinking about the impact my website might have.

On another topic, Voice.club, an online writing group I belong to has just put out a small anthology of 40 of the best flash fiction stories submitted to the group’s website in the past year. One of mine is included. The book is called Voice.club Flash Fiction Contest Winners 2020. It’s available in ebook format on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca. Voice.club is an interesting group that’s free to join. If you’re interested in expanding your writing horizons, you might want to give it a try.

Anyway, time to get back to my Environmental Armageddon story.

Merry Christmas everyone and stay away from those coronaviruses.

  1. Hi Phil,

I suggest you create an Author’s Facebook page that’s linked to this WordPress site. Each time you upload a post you can have it automagically go to your Author’s Facebook Page. Anyone who has a FB account can like and make comments.

  2. That would be a viable workaround for people who are following the facebook page, but it doesn’t really answer the question of why many people cannot leave a comment here. And it begs another question; why can’t I link this site to my regular facebook page?
